About Us

Our mission is to make it easy for you to select the right diet for you.  We go to great lengths to study diets and present them in a format for you to make easy "apples to apples" comparisons.  This approach should assist you in selecting the right diet that meets your dietary tastes and lifestyle desires.

The key to losing weight is finding a healthy approach that meets your needs and fits your lifestyle.  With the amount of diet and weight-loss books on the market, this can be a daunting task.  Our goal is to do the menu planning for you so you can focus on other important tasks in your life. You still need to consult with your doctor about your health and eating patterns.  You still need to exercise regularly.  You still need to learn about nutrition and think about what is right for you.

Meet our extraordinary team of experts:

Sharon Barrett, Nutritionist/DTR/IBCLC

Sharon's love of cooking and good nutrition has inspired many years of experience in food production and meal planning for groups and individuals. For the past 10 years, she has worked for a food and nutrition education program, counseling and teaching individuals on a daily basis. Her goal is to encourage and teach healthy eating habits for all lifestyles. She loves experimenting with foods and trying new recipes. Her personal style is semi-vegetarian - lots of fruits and vegetables, nuts and legumes.  It includes dairy products, limited seafood and poultry. As her family has grown and the children are now adults, she enjoys cooking for friends and family gatherings, encompassing a multitude of diets. From total vegan, vegetarian, gluten and dairy free, and more traditional diets including meat, what a challenge when we are all together as a family! She lives in the Midwest. Her daughter, the younger of two children, has just graduated college and moved out on her own.  The household now consists of two crazy golden retrievers and a cat (who is the king of the house – totally in charge of the dogs!).  Her son has decided to make Oregon his home - now my favorite vacation destination!

Carrie Beth Carney,  Holistic Nutrition Consultant

Carrie has been interested in nutrition and fitness for many years. After having a few family health concerns she decided to obtain her M.S. in Holistic Nutrition.  She used to weigh over 200 pounds and lost over 50 pounds by just changing her diet. Her nutrition philosophy is that diets are not something that you go on and then stop after a period of time. They are meant to be a lifestyle change for life-long health and success.  She lives this philosophy every day and hopes that she can inspire and help all of you to do the same.

Jillayne Gee,  RD

jillayne.pngJillayne was raised in Idaho and learned hard work and discipline not the farm but from her ballet classes. In college, she redirected her efforts from ballet to dietetics. Dietetics satisfied her interest for the emotional, mental, and physical interactions between nutrition and people. She hopes to use her education to work with weight-loss clients, geriatrics, or pediatrics. Aside from dietetics, she enjoys playing foosball with her husband, refinishing furniture, and watching Hallmark movies.

As a dietitian, most people are surprised when she tells them her favorite foods are pizza and ice cream. She rationalizes that perhaps people associate health as only eating “good” foods like fruits and vegetables and eliminating “bad” foods like soda pop and cookies. Throughout her undergraduate dietetics program at Brigham Young University and her post-graduate dietetics internship from Utah State University, she learned a healthy diet doesn’t mean you have to eliminate the “bad” foods. A healthy diet is built upon principles of variety, moderation, calorie control, balance, and adequacy. As a menu author, she will incorporate these principles into her menus to help you achieve a healthy diet.
